இலண்டன் சைவ மாநாடு (சிறப்புமலர்)

7வது சைவ மாநாடு இலண்டன் 2004 aspects of their eastern identity. In addition to Navarathri and Founder's Day, we also organize regular programmes and concerts in order to celebrate the children's talents and help them to achieve the highest standards of excellence. We now try to organize a cultural programme for every major festival at the Temple. We also organize a Thiagarajah Utsavam every year and this year we plan to add an annual Tamil Music Festival to our very busy calendar! It has always been a source of pride and inspiration to watch these young children grow in faith and knowledge of their culture. Many have studied to a high level of achievement and it has been a joy to attend their arangetrams and even to welcome some of them back to the Temple as teachers. The Temple administration has a good balance of young volunteers who bring new ideas and a fresh approach to Temple activities (in order to cater for the 2nd and 3rd generation Hindus here in the U.K.), and a group of older, more experienced members of the community, who help to keep the great traditions and original vision of the Temple alive. This Temple was created to serve our people, to give spiritual and emotional comfort to those who need it. We have no fixed rates for basic religious services at the Temple - thus allowing people to give what they wish or what they can afford. Our main underlying principle is that the Temple is open to all who wish to come and pray, regardless of wealth or status, social background or creed. Being part of the Federation of Saiva (Hindu) Temples, UK, has been a source of great support and strength for us and we are proud to be part of this organisation. It will always hold a special place in our hearts because my father was one of the key founding members. Even then, there were those who said such an organisation would never work, would never succeed. Well, seven years on, the Federation is still here and growing in strength and vigour! It's purpose was to unify and provide a forum for Hindu Saivites to learn and understand more about their great faith and culture and it has been a source of inspiration for many new projects in the Temple. We learn from each other and try to share in our strengths, with new ideas and a fresh perspective, and the Federation has enabled us to meet some very special, dedicated and devoted people, who have given us support and advice whenever we have needed it. We urge you to give your fullest support to the Federation and to the conference. It is the one opportunity where you can listen to the wisdom of so many scholars of Saivaism. It is also one of the few opportunities when you will meet representatives from many of the thriving Saivite Temples in the U.K. Use the opportunity to discuss your views, opinions and suggestions with us and help us to build a great future for Saivaism here in the West. We pray that Lord Ghanapathy showers His choicest Blessings upon you all and continues to guide the Federation in the wonderful work that it does for our community.
