இலண்டன் சைவ மாநாடு (சிறப்புமலர்)

7வது சைவ மாநாடு இலண்டன் 2004 in other words the omnipresent internal energy, is prevented by doing so by the bondage. It is fully explained that the bondage consists of Egoism (anavam) illusion (maya) and (karma). Even though science tends to explain the happenings through logic, it fails in many sitations. A good example is the current situation in Iraq. It is becoming obvious that America went into war against all the odds and information placed in its hands. Previous evidence of this, of course, is the war in North Vietnam costing so many lives. However, they still went into a war in the Middle East where it could be worse. Basic anavam and illusion led to this war. Obviously it seems so. Many lives have been lost and they are unable to get out without losing more lives. Thus the faith in all-important supreme force, which leads to faith in oneself if you follow it fully, leads to a blissful life. Thus what you need to understand are the features of Egoism, illusion and karma as it is explained in Saiva Siddhanta philosophy. When one understand's this philosophy life is then for the common good. Certainly in today's life money is very important. It brings comfort to your life, a status among your fellow people and alleviates your worries about day-to-day living. When one chases money because of what it provides, one loses the inner peace. In the materialistic world, there is no limit in going after money. However, in the spiritual world, there is another philosophy, it brings balance. It provides life for everyone. It helps the needy, the blind and education for children. This leads to a better family life, better society and a better nation. : Religion thus teaches morality, love, giving and discipline. This leads to 68 realization of the God Parapiramam within oneself. This brings inner peace, self satisfaction and confidence to lead a peaceful and happy life. As I mentioned earlier, 21st Century motto is individualizaton. The person is empowered and maximized in its functioning. This is supposed to bring peace and well being for the person. But our experience is not so. As individualization is intertwined with materialism this leads to selfishness, competition and greed. In doing so, there is no peace for the individual. This individual is unable to give because his needs are great. This leads to family disintegration, lack of communal living and finally lack of national feeling. In other words, individuals live for themselves. Further, this leads to loss of identity leading onto isolation, lack of support and ending up in a depressive state. Thus the family is the nucleus of society, which is the centre of the nation. If the family leads a life of love, discipline, morality and giving to the community, the nation thrives. To do so one needs to have the faith in one's self, which does come from the supreme Parapiramam. Obviously this leads to self-realisation. I would like to quote Saint Thirumoolar "Caste is one, God is one, so think good (be good), you need not fear death. Keep your mind focused on good so that it does not stray onto greed and evil doings". So let us guide our children in giving by giving up something they do, let them participate in activities, which help the community at large. Theis will certainly lead to a better society, which will keep the faith intact.
